A brief history of Hikoi Cambridge...


Hikoi Cambridge is the newbee (but not for long) of our Hikoi stores. It opened its doors on March 15th 2010 after countless hours of expert painting by as many of the Hikoi team we could find to get the job done!

Like all of our other store locations, Hikoi Cambridge is next door to a great travel agency at 47b Victoria St, Cambridge.
Cambridge is in the heart of the Waikato and is famous for its first class rowing lake (Karipiro) where many world rowing champs have been held. This lake is the result of a hydro dam that fords the mighty Waikato River which has many great spots for walking along its banks.
In the background behind Cambridge is the majectic Mt Maungatautere. Put on a good pair of hiking boots or shoes and climb it when you get the chance as the views are stunning!

The owner of Hikoi Cambridge (Craig Brain) comes from a footwear wholesalers background (we poached him) so he knows all about shoes, boots and sandals and along with his awesome staff can recommend the perfect shoe for you. Our clothing brands include NZ made chalkydigits, Marmot, Silkbody, Smartwool and Therma-dry and we also stock a good range of travel packs, bags and accessories.

What is your favourite spot in NZ? So much is amazing…anywhere with my family & friends. 
What is the best country you have traveled to? They’re all unique..but I’d go back to Italy tomorrow.
What is your favourite quote or someone you admire? “ Life is not a dress rehearsal…you only get one go at it.”
What's your favourite Hikoi brand and why? It’s hard to choose, but Ecco shoes feature up there for  their comfort. 
What's the one thing you would always take with you on a Hikoi? Ultra comfy walking shoes because I wouldn’t get far without them… and an open attitude!
