Osprey Packs was founded in Santa Cruz, CA in 1974. Founder, owner and head designer Mike Pfotenhauer sewed custom backpacks and sleeping bags on a customer by customer basis

From its humble beginnings to its current recognition as an industry leader, Osprey has always flown its own course.
