The chalkydigits concept was originally dreamed up from one woman's determined search for creative, comfortable clothing that fitted our NZ Lifestyle and reflected her passionate love of design and didn't compromise on quality. Finding the existing choices somewhat lacking, designer Liz Collins thought (with typical grandiose artistic finesse) "what they hey? I'll make my own!" and make them she did.

Fortified with the unwavering support of local cutters, machinists, screen printers, embroiderers... the list goes on ... chalkydigits was bought to life in the summer of 2000. Fiercely loyal to those very same manufacturers and hell-bent on retaining its exceptional standard of quality, chalkydigits is adamant it will always remain made in New Zealand.

While proud of keeping pollution and freight miles down by making all our garments in NZ, we recognise the need to continually deepen our commitment to this environment we adore so much. More and more we have been purposefully heading down the eco-friendly road: from using zque merino sourced from environmentally friendly, local farms to using organic cotton in our range we are wholeheartedly devoted to staying clean, green and local. Our next goal is to undergo a "green audit", whereby sustainability will become a central element of our practise and we can show we are truly committed to making a difference in the world.

Since its humble beginnings, chalkydigits has been consistently carving a creative path of it's own through the hearts and minds of New Zealanders. Our very small but dynamic team is genuinely dedicated to producing durable garments with edgy designs and eco inspired graphics.
